a5c7b9f00b A US Marine sniper is partnered with a SWAT member to take out rebel leaders in the jungles of Panama.
A Panamanian rebel leader is meeting with his financier/drug lord. The U.S. government seeks to "disrupt" the meeting by eliminating them both. Thomas Beckett, an ace sniper stationed in the area, is sent to perform the mission. Since his spotter was killed by a mysterious mercenary sniper, he must be accompanied by Richard Miller, a SWAT trained sniper from the National Security Council who has never had a kill. The two must best the jungle and complete the mission, hindered by numerous enemy patrols, "El-Cirujano", a renegade American working for the enemy, the mysterious sniper, and the rough living in a dangerous jungle.
Not just a dodgy corny low end action flick. I thought it was some a crappy movie but it's pretty well put together and the acting isnt too bad. They over use the bullet cam effect but watch sniper and you'll want to watch the end.
This is definitely Tom Berenger's signature film, he is perfect for this role and also Billy Zane did his job well in this film.<br/><br/>The best thing about this film is it's simplicity just like predator, the jungle and well chosen music works perfectly with this film adding to the suspense. This is a generally speaking (in a non-sexist way) truly a guy film, I remember watching this with my girlfriend and I am sure she was counting the squares on the carpet after five minutes so be careful who you watch it with. I have watched this film many times and it goes on "the keeps" shelf of my DVD collection, awesome film.<br/><br/>Unfortunately I can't say the same for the sniper films that come after this but they are watchable.

Both versions exhibit a different cutting sequence. Concerning the cutting of various scenes, the R-Rated version is faster and more suspenseful than the UK version. With the exception of the censorship of one scene of violence, only scenes are missing that were slowing the film down and did not add anything important to the story.
